time to come . John is an enormously experienced international river guide and over the last 15 years has worked on many commercial rafting operations in different locations around the world. Based now for 8 years in Karnataka he is the pioneer of professional rafting in South India.
You
can choose from 2 types of accommodation, "Ethnic Bamboo Huts" with mud plaster. These cozy cottages are built on stilts with split-level interiors. The construction is rugged and made in the local style with sleeping facility for up to 4 adults and has a full-fledged bathroom attached to each hut. Hot water is available according to timings. These huts are located on a slope, overlooking the forested hill ranges. "The Bunk House" is semi-private cubicles, sleeping 4 people in each on teak wood bunk beds. Totally 24 beds available. There are 4 common bathrooms and toilets in this facility. All accommodation has basic electric lighting and fan, while lanterns, present a quaint and romantic sight at night, and illuminate the paths. The whole concept is rustic, earthly and "in tune" with nature, yet dos not compromise on the essential comforts. At
the camp's rooftop restaurant you can enjoy the excellent pizzas from the wood fired oven or chicken off the barbecue. For the real jungle experience with all the necessary comforts, solitude, silence and inexpensive, this is defiantly the place to
stay. The restaurant has been built on top of the "bunk house" and the two buildings that existed before the camp came up were originally dynamite and magazine stores from the days when the nearby Supa Dam was built. Hence the name "Old Magazine
House".
We also offer 2 or 3 Day Canoe Tours out to uninhabited islands. Pitch camp, enjoy the barbecue and see the best night sky in South India. This is a Real Wilderness Trip. Canyoning is offered for those who are interested in cliff hanging under waterfalls. Have a go at it in the Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. For those who want to break into a sweat, try Mountain biking on the many trails in the forest. Kayaking lessons can also be given to beginners, and also on-the-river guidance to more competent paddlers through experienced guides. Try a Local forest trek departing from the camp itself into the thick canopy or a Sunset trek to the best view in North Karnataka. A two hour trek around the upper ridge of the camp ends with a breathtaking view of Supa Reservoir to the west. If time it right then you get the most stunning sunset views of the hills over the huge expanse of water below. Jungle Rides in jeeps are available for half day or full day to visit waterfalls and natural swimming pools, totally undisturbed deep into the forest Please call us for Special Corporate and Group Packages |
